WHAT IS IN THE ELF BAR?

Cigarettes vs elf bars - the harmful effects of cigarettes

There is no question that the prolonged use of cigarettes is extremely unhealthy, and the list of harmful effects could go on for hours. The tar, carbon monoxide, nicotine, sulphur dioxide, benzene, ammonia and arsenic in cigarette smoke can seriously damage the body even in the short term.

A number of studies have shown that, unfortunately, widespread diseases such as arterial stenosis and heart attacks are associated with long-term smoking, but blood supply problems in the legs are also significantly more common among cigarette smokers. Inflammatory diseases of the stomach and gastric ulcers may also develop as a consequence of smoking. Among diseases affecting the eyes, long-term cigarette smoking also plays a significant role in the mechanism of onset of cataracts and glaucoma, and unfortunately this harmful addiction is also directly linked to serious cancers.

Lung cancer clearly tops the list of cancers caused by cigarette smoking, with 85 out of 100 cases guaranteed to be attributable to long-term cigarette smoking, meaning that 85% of lung cancer patients are active smokers. In addition, 11 other serious cancers are closely linked to this harmful addiction: cigarette smoking can also be responsible for cancers of the bladder, kidney, larynx, oral cavity, oesophagus, stomach and pancreas.

What exactly is harmful about cigarettes?

The main problem with cigarettes is not nicotine. It is well known that inhaling cigarette smoke causes nicotine to enter the lungs, from where it is almost immediately transported to the brain via the bloodstream. In the brain, it releases neurotransmitters that can make you feel more alert or relaxed, depending on your mood. This is why the consumption of all products containing nicotine can have a calming effect. There are a number of temporary positive effects of consuming nicotine-containing products, such as relaxation, reduced hunger, improved concentration, or even a better mood. In the long term, however, it is important to know that nicotine is addictive!

So nicotine alone - at least in the amounts found in tobacco smoke - is certainly not carcinogenic, but 90 of the 4,800 compounds in cigarettes have been proven to be! The most dangerous are the above-mentioned tar, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, benzene, ammonia and arsenic, but the list of health-damaging compounds is almost endless.

What about the elf bar consumption?

So there is no question that smoking is not healthy and quitting is important. A popular tool for this process in recent months has been the elf bar, a product that works on a completely different principle to traditional cigarettes, and which also comes in a nicotine-free version.

In fact, for almost 60 years, since 1963, the big tobacco companies have been developing devices for the production of nicotine aerosols. The first electric cigarette was launched in China in 2003, and in 2005 it was launched in Europe and the US under the name "Ruyan". The first electric vapes were available in the domestic market as early as 2007.

What is an elf bar?

In an interview with RTL Klub, Gábor Zacher asked the question for the first time in front of a large audience in Hungary: what does the new epidemic of 2022, the elf bar, contain? Well, it's time to answer that question!

What is in the elf bar?

The elf bar is actually made up of 5 main components.

  1. First of all, it has a lithium battery that depends on the number of cycles.
  2. There is an electronic circuit that activates the boiler when suction is applied and transfers the heat to the liquid in the boiler.
  3. An important component of the eleven bar is the boiler itself, which gives off heat and heats the liquid around it, producing steam, and
  4. the device contains a liquid, i.e. a liquid in a tank, the quantity of which always depends on the number of hits of the product.
  5. This is surrounded by the elf bar enclosure itself.

In most articles and interviews on the subject of the penalty stick, it is written that it is not known what materials the device contains. This is not entirely true. Let's take a look at the ingredients of the liquid in the penalty bar devices:

1. Vegetable glycerine: we are talking about a substance that is used in many industries every day. It can be found in cough suppressants, mouthwashes, soaps and shampoos, toothpastes, many beauty creams, everyday foods or hookah tobacco.

2. Propylene glycol: A compound found mainly in the food industry, mainly used in cakes and in foams for cake decoration.

3. Nicotine salt, if we are talking about a non-nicotine-free eleven bar device. Interestingly, the nicotine salt is absorbed faster than traditional nicotine, which is why the nicotine-containing elf bar has a more pleasant, faster effect. The nicotine content of an elf bar is usually expressed as a percentage or in milligrams, and currently these products are produced in 3 formats: nicotine-free, i.e. 0%, 2% (2mg nicotine/ml) and 5% (5mg nicotine/ml), available in Western Europe.

4. Other natural and artificial aromas: the intense taste of the elf bar is provided by natural and artificial aromas used in the food and beauty industry, so it may happen that the taste of the cola elf bar is eerily similar to the taste of the beloved cola gummies, the fruity elf baroque and they taste just as delicious as a soft drink or Tutti-Fruttis chewing gum.
